Fox News created this ridiculous (although amusing in a pathetic sort of way) attempt at jounralism.

2007 St. Paul Winter Carnival Cat Show

Some photos from the official 2007 St. Paul Winter Carnival Cat Show. Just what the St. Paul Winter Carnival has to do with cats I'm not quite sure, but this cat show has been part of the winter carnival for the past 30 years.

No More P-Mode

I'm banning myself from using the p-mode on the camera for a while. I need to learn how to take pictures using my own brain and not the camera's. Here are a couple of shots from my first p-mode-less outing in the park.

Time Lapse

My husband made a time lapse video of a plant in his office today. He set up a tripod and a Canon 5D programmed to take a picture every minute for 8 hours. Its neat how much plants move.

Procasti-nization

A little known fact about me is that I often organize things that really don't need organizing as a procastination technique. This morning I made this compolation of all the Nancy Drew book cover images to highlight the ones I have in my collection and the ones I still need. I'm posting this to make me feel that creating this was as least a little worth while!

BWCA Winter 2007

My favorite photo from our weekend trip to the Boundary Waters. Ten hours of driving for two hours of hiking may not seem like its worth it but its magic up there in winter.

New Computer

I sold my old powerbook last week to help pay for a new MackBook Pro which just arrived today. Its nice to have a computer again...

Photos for Ford

As a federal employee, I got today off to mourn the death of Gerald
Ford. I attempted to validate my day off by watching his
funeral on TV but I couldn't get past all the religious rhetoric so I decided to go for a hike in the snow and take some photos. I think Gerald Ford was the only president who had also been a National Park Ranger and I understand he was a huge supporter of the National Park Service; so I think we would be happy with my use of his day of mourning. These photos are dedicated to him.







I used a lensbaby 2.0 on a Cannon 5D with the picture style set to monochrome.
